Κάθε χρόνο το Μουσείο προσφέρει ένα πλούσιο κύκλο πολιτιστικών προγραμμάτων με σεμινάρια, διαλέξεις και εργαστήρια για ενήλικες και οικογένειες. Η ονομασία ΣΠΕΔΟΣ προέρχεται από έναν αρχαίο κυκλαδικό οικισμό της εποχής της Χαλκοκρατίας (3200 – 1200 π.Χ.).
